Be it remembered that I, Sampson Mason, of Adams, in the County of Berkshire, yeoman, being weak in body, but of sound mind and memory, do, this eighth day of August, anno Domini, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-five, make and publishe this my last will and testament in manner following, that is to say.
Imprimis. i give to my beloved wife, Selah Mason, the use and improvement of one-third part of all my real estate in Adams and Cheshire.
Also One hundred Dollars paid to her by my exectuor, hereafter named, at the time of my decease, and all my household furniture except my Desk, Clock, and one armed Chair.
Item. I give to my son, Elkanah Mason, one-third part of my wearing apparil, in addition to what I have given him before.
Item. I give to my son, Isaac Mason, one-third part of my wearing apparel, in addition to what I have given him before.
Item. i give to my son, Amos Mason, one-third part of wearing apparil, in addition to what i have given him before.
Iten. I give to my son, Isaiah Mason, one dollar, in addition to what I have given him before.
Item. i give to my daughter, Hannah Richmond, one dollar, in addition to what I have given her before.
Item. I give to my daughter, Ruth Nesbit, One Hundred Dollars,, in addition to what i have given her before, in one year after my decease.
I give to my daughter, Esther Mason, four hundred and iffity dollars, to be paid to her in one year after my decease, and the chamber over the great room that is plastered, as long as she remains a single woman.
Item. i give to my son, Sampson Mason Junr. all my real and personal estate in Adams and Cheshire that I have not otherwise disposed of, to him, his heirs and assigns for their own use and improvement forever, and lastly i do constitute and appoint Asa Richmond sole execturo of this my last will and testament.

It states that Samson Mason b. Apr 8 1750 removed to Adams, Mass 1770 but for a time settled in Ira, Vt.
Estate settled in Pittsford in 1825. Married on June 13, 1803 Mercy Sherman daughter of George Sherman of Ira, VT. Married second Mrs. Celia Lincoln Richmond. The will of George Sherman of Ira, Vt was probated in 1794 and names daughter Mercy Mason.
LDS film # 0889337 Ira, Vermont Cemetery Records was checked and revealed nothing on the Sherman family.

In the Name of God Amen, the 11 Day of November in the year of our Lord Christ One Thousand Seven hundred & Eighty nine
I George Shearman Senior, of Ira County of Rutland, State of Vermont Blacksmith, being old but of perfect mind, & memory Thanks be given unto God for the same; and calling to mind the Mortality of my Body and knowing that it is Appointed for all men once to die. Do make and ordain this My last Will and Testament. that is to say. Imprimue?
And first of all, I give and recommend my sourl Unto the hands of God That gave it & for my Body I Recommend it to the Earth to be Buried after a decent & Christian Burial at the discretion of my Executor: Nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection, I shall Receive the same again by the mighty Power of God. ___ And as touching worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I give Deivse and dispose of in the form following that is to say
In the first place after my just debts are paid
(Item) I give and Bequeath unto my Beloved Wife Rebeccah Shearman all my household furniter her wearing apparel and the whole of a lease of one Hundred acres of Land signed to me by my sons George Sherman Junr. & John Collins for her use During her life
(Item) I give and bequeath unto my son Caleb Shearman six Shillings Lawful money.
(Item) I give to my son George Shearman Junr Six shillings Lawful money whom I hereafter appoint my Executor
(Item) I give to my son Jafat Shearman six Shillings Lawful money
(Item) I give to my Daughter Rebeccah wife of John Collins six shillings Lawful money
And the rest of my Estate together with Household furniter I give and bequeath
To my son Joshua Shearman and my Daughter Ruth Baker and to my
Daughter Elizabeth Wilber and to my Daugheter Marcy Mason and to my
Daughter Sarah Newton after their Mothers Decease to be Equally
Divided among them all.
Likewise I constitute make ordain my beloved Son George Shearman Junr
To be my only & sole Executor to this my last will & Testament and I do hereby
disallow, Revoke and disannull all and every other former Testaments Wills &
Legisis Bequests & Executors.
By me In any ways before this time Named willed and Bequeathed Ratifying and Confirming this to be my last will and Testament.

At a court of Probate held at Ira within and for the ___ district of Rutland on the 18th Day of Feb AD 1794 before the Hon. Elisha Clark Ewq Judge of said court.
This will in pri__ in said Court by George Sherman Executor there in named for probate and Giphar Carpenter Joseph Baker and Ian McLouth personally appeared as witness and being put under solemn oath the J Lawrence testifies that he saw George Sherman sign and seal this will, and he with the other tow witnesses testifies that they heard hin publish pronounce and declare the samne to be his last will and Tesament that he appeared to them at that time to be of a sound mind and memory and that they subscribed their names as witnesses in the presence of the Testator and in the prosence of each other
__ Wherefore this will is approved Ratified and confirmed as the last Will and Testament of the said George Sherman the Testator
