Cemetery Record, Lewis Myles Stark Cemetery, Survey by Author April 22, 2002. In
the year 2002, information became available indicating Lewis
Myles Stark, son of
Elizabeth, wished to be buried at the foot of his mother's
grave. The tombstone of Lewis was
easy to find and Elizabeth's marker was a simple Funeral Home
marker. April 13, 2002 Bonnie
Smith, Resident of Newton, reported in an e-mail: "A group
from Bon Weir and other places (kin & near kin of Elizabeth
Stark ) went to the cemetery today. The cemetery is called the
Lewis Myles Stark
Cemetery. We have recovered, fenced and cleaned it. Lewis Myles
Stark, who was the
son of William Hawley & Elizabeth , is buried there along
with several others. Some
have headstones; some do not (unknown). We know there are other
graves. Yesterday [April
12, 2002], a new granite marker was placed at Elizabeth's grave.
All these years, there was
only a funeral home marker; how it survived is a miracle." |
