Clovers in Nevada Records
Nevada Censuses
The earliest non Indian settlements in Nevada were about 1849 when a
groupo of Mormons settled in Genoa, Nevada. Most of
Nevada was part of the Utah Territory until 1861 when it became
the Nevada Territory and in 1864 it became the 36th State of the Union.
Inhabitants of this area were enumerated with Utah i 1860.
The first Nevada census was in 1870 and there was a state census
in 1872. However, I have found no Clovers in these early
censuses.
1880 Washoe County, NV ED 52 page 294 line 30: D. B. Clover 60 widowed
farmer VA VA VA. Boarder. The first letter of his
last name has been overwritten. He is indexed as a Clover,
but he could very likely be a Glover.
