was one of
the many sons of John
Metler Clover.
Alfred had a very
long list of children and several wives.
The following is just a few items on this
family. I
am not absolutely sure that I have all of his marriages. I
have
more
material which I will put up soon.
Alfred Clover was born 25 January 1827,
died 17
February 1902,
buried in South Fairview Cemetery, Walnut Creek Cemetery, Mitchell
County, Kansas. (1) The census evidence says that he was born in
Indiana. He had a number of marriages. Alfred
Clover married first Martha Gibson in
Vermillion County, Indiana 9 March 1849.(2) Martha
Clover,
born ca.
1828, as she died 15 November 1875, aged 47y 9m 14d. She is
buried in
South Fairview Cemetery where she shares a tombstone with Alfred,
Elizabeth, Emely, and Mary J. Clover.(3)
Alfred Clover, 49, of Mitchell County,
Kansas,
married [second], Elizabeth
Cox, 27, of
Mitchell County, Kansas, 27 April 1876, at Mitchell County, Kansas by
Frank Hobart, JP (4) Elizabeth Clover, was born ca. 1849, died 10
February 1877, aged 28 years, buried in South Fairview Cemetery, where
she shares a tombstone with Alfred, Martha, Emely and Mary J. Clover.

Clover was the son of Alfred Clover according to the 1880 Census.
He
is in the California death index as having died 1932, in Yolo County,

Alfred Clover was born January 25, 1828
in Terra
Haute, Indiana, and died February 17, 1902 in Glen Elder,
Kansas.
Alfred is buried in the Clover Cemetery in Glen Elder,
Kansas.
Alfred Clover first married Martha Ann Gibson on March 9,
1849. Martha was born on February 3, 1828 in Terra Haute,
Indiana
and died November 17, 1875 in Glen Elder, Kansas. Martha is
buried in the Clover Cemetery in Glen Elder, Kansas.
Alfred and Martha’s Children
were:
First, Timothy Amos Clover born December 17, 1849 and died on December
16, 1893. He is buried in the Clover Cemetery in Glen Elder,
Kansas. Timothy Clover married Jennie Muck on December 25,
1873. Jennie Muck was born on April 22, 1857 and died on
September 21, 1904 and is buried in the Clover Cemetery in Glen Elder,
Kansas. Her father was Daniel Muck.

Clover’s children were:
Belle Clover born on November 24, 1874 and died on August 13,
1918. Bell Clover married Pete Randall and their children
were:
Carlton Clover Randall born on August 4,
1911.
Pearl Clover born in 1876 and died in infancy.
Lois Clover born on September 30, 1878 and died February 12,
1920. Lola married D. B. Neifert on January 1, 1901; they had
six
boys and two girls.
Myrtle Clover born in 1880 and died in infancy.
Maud Clover born in 1882 and died in 1886.
Lillie Clover born November 29, 1886. Lillie Clover married
Charles H. Waltman on August 27, 1908. Charles parents were
Michael and Louisa Waltman. Their children were:
Maudie Waltman born on May 18, 1908 in
Lincoln,
Nebraska. She married W. P. Magera on June 29,
1929. W. P.
Magers was born on May 2, 1904. His parents were Sam and
Polly
Magers. Their child was Park Wayne Magers born on March 10,
1932.
Mildred Waltman born on October 31, 1909 in Sedalia,
Missouri.
Mildred Waltman married Tom Lavett on December 2, 1926. Tom
Lavett parents are Sam and Mary Levett. Mildred and Tom
Levett’s children are:
Tommy Levett was born on February 5,
1908.
Tommy was in the United States Navy stationed at Santiago,
California. He served on a minesweeper off the coast of
Korea. After he was Honorably Discharged, he married Barbara
on
December 20, 1952.
Florence Waltman was born on March 22, 1911 in Clinton,
Missouri.
She married Hays Dandiff on December 13, 1937 in Wichita,
Kansas.
Hays was born on July 19, 1907 to Jin and Stella Condiff.
Helen Louise Waltman was born on July 27, 1924. Helen Waltman
married Alan Judd on July 29, 1942. Alan Judd was born on May
19,
1920 to George and Mary Judd. Their child was:
Timothy Alan Judd born on March 30, 1946.
Victor Clover born on July 3, 1888 and died on December 2,
1942.
Victor married Millie Carpenter on August 25, 1909. Millie
was
born on February 13, 1888 to Will and Carrie Carpenter.
Victor
and Millie Clover’s children were:
Elwood Clover born on October 23,
1910. Elwood
married Evelyn Barnett on September 5, 1936. Evelyn was born
on
December 18, 1913. Their children were:
Jackie Clover born on March 17, 1942.
Carolyn Clover born on October 4, 1945.
Dale Clover born on June 28, 1913. Dale Clover married
Christine
Vaughn on June 5, 1944. Christine Vaughn was born on February
25,
1915.
The second child is Mary Jane Clover was born November 25, 1852 and
died in October 1873.
The third child is Sarah Ann Clover was born in 1853 and died in 1881
in Marshall County Iowa.
The fourth child of Alfred and Martha Clover is Isaac Clover was born
on August 31, 1857 in Alden, Iowa. Isaac Clover married Dora
Buzzard on March 15, 1881. Dora Buzzard was born on June 18,
1863
to Jacob and Elizabeth Marshall Buzzard. Isaac and Dora
Clover’s children were:
Elizabeth Martha Clover born on January 11, 1882 and died July 25,
1886. Elizabeth is buried in the Coble Cemetery, Glen Elder,
Kansas.
Bart Clover born November 13, 1883. Bart Clover married Lela
Mabel Dunton who was born January 11, 1886 to Homer and Helen Westcott
Dunton. Bart and Lela’s child was Leona Fae Clover
born
February 22, 1906.
Earl N. Clover born September 15, 1886. Earl Clover married
Mary
Mathilda Leonard who was born on November 19, 1887. Mary
Mathilda
Leonard’s parents were John and Mary Breinbach
Leonard.
Earl and Mathilda’s children are Leonard Earl Clover born May
16,
1911 and Danle Vernon Clover born July 11, 1915.
Roy Clover born June 9, 1888.
Irvin Clover born April 30, 1890. Irvin Clover married Lela
Kathryn Harraman on September 6, 1917. Lela was born on July
23,
189? to William Edward and Lucia Patterson Harramam. Irvin
and
Lela Clover’s children were:
Betty Thuryl Clover born September 27, 1918.
Marvin Errol Clover born May 2, 1921.
Edna Ellen Clover born May 22, 1892. Edna Clover married

Denver’s
parents were Vernon C. and Blanch Tucker Potter who were divorced.
Velma Edith Clover born December 20, 1898.
Vina Ruth Clover born October 24, 1900 married Alphe Louis Springer on
August 21, 1926. Alphe was born November 20, 1903 to Fred and
Jeanette Kergel Springer. Vina and Alphe had one child,

Leona Springer born November 2, 1927.
George Isaac Clover born December 10, 1903.
Leslie Edward Clover born October 12, 1905.
Dora Alice Clover born April 25, 1908.
The fifth child of Alfred and Martha is
Emma Delia
Clover born July 31, 1859. Emma died on June 1, 1879 and is
buried in Clover Cemetery, Glen Elder, Kansas. Emma Clover
married James Potts in August of 1878. They had one child who
died in infancy.
The sixth child of Alfred and Martha is
Frances
Clover born September 8, 1862. Frances Clover married Amos
Strange Williams on November 19, 1881. Amos was born on April
19,
1857 to Joseph and Martha Silvay Williams. He died October
16,
1924 and is buried in Belmont, Oklahoma.
Frances Clover’s second marriage was to Samuel N. Calvert on
June
12, 1929. Samuel was born March 10, 1863, died April 5, 1948
and
is buried in Vinita, Oklahoma.
Edward Best Williams born on March 8,
1863.
Edward Best Williams married Margaret Shubert on August 17,
1917.
Margaret was born on March 14, 1883 to George and Theresa
Shubert. Edward and Margaret William are buried in Cornelia,
Georgia. Their children are:
Calvin Earl Williams born September 20, 1922. Calvin married
Gertrude Davis on October 14, 1945. Gertrude Davis was born
on
July 29, 1923 to Arthur and Florence Downing Davis.
Amos Carroll Williams born June 27, 1924. Amos
married
Alice Wynona Hawk on August 10, 1942. Alice Wynona Hawk was
born
on August 10, 1926 to Fred and Winnie Landon Hawk. Their
children
are Sheila Wynona Williams born October 8, 1950.
Floyd Williams was born on October 24,
1884.
Floyd married Lillie Keith on October 24, 1907. Lillie Keith

born on December 31, 1886 to F. M. and Cora A. Hunter Keith.

Gibson Clover is Lott Clover born October 7, 1864 and died January 13,
1925. Lott married Belle O’Neal in 1904.
The eighth child of Alfred and Martha Clover is Rhoda
Clover. Rhoda clover was born December 1866 and died in 1867.
The ninth child of Alfred and Martha
Clover is
Edward Clover born October 2, 1868. Edward married Caroline
Agnes
Wilkendorf on July 29, 1900. Caroline Wilkendorf was born
September 28, 1874 to August and Margaret Kippel Wulkendorf.
Edward and Caroline Clover had four children:
Herman Alfred Clover born June 21, 1902.
Helen Margaret Clover born December 2, 1903. Helen Clover
married
George Erwin Downing on January 1, 1925. George Downing was
born
August 4, 1890 to Leonard and Luetta Rober Downing.
Beulah May Clover born November 10, 1906.
Leonard Wilkendorf Clover born May 20, 1910.

Alfred’s second marriage was
to Elizabeth Cox
on April 26, 1876. Elizabeth died on February 10, 1877 and is
buried in the Clover Cemetery, Glen Elder, Kansas. Alfred and
Elizabeth Cox Clover had one son, Gram Reed Clover, born February 10,
1877. Gram married Louise May Nelson on January 2,
1904.
Louise Nelson was born December 27, 1887 to William A. and Emma
Virginia Byrco Nelson. Gram and Louise’s children
were:
Pearl Irene Clover born October 6, 1904.
Jessie May Clover born May 12, 1906.
Dora Grace Clover born March 12, 1908.
Phillo Ross Clover born March 10, 1910.
Elsie Beryl Clover born April 2, 1912.
Ina Louise clover born October 5, 1914.
Donald Keith Clover born November 30, 1919.
Isaac Leland Clover born April 12, 1921.

Alfred Clovers third marriage was to
Emma Pugh on
August 28, 1879. Emma died on May 14, 1882 and is buried in
the
Clover Cemetery, Glen Elder, Kansas. Alfred and Emma Clover
had
one child, Dora Ellen Clover born April 25, 1880. Dora
married
Charles Edward Stains on March 29, 1899. Charles was born
June 7,
1880 to George and Elizabeth Cline Steins.
Alfred Clovers fourth marriage was to
Rebecca Petry
in 1885. Rebecca is buried in the Clover Cemetery, Glen
Elder,
Kansas. Alfred and Rebecca Clover had one son, Peter born
June
21, 1886. Peter was married two times, he divorced his first
wife.
