1. ELIZABETH4 SWARTZLANDER (JOHANN PHILIP3 SCHWARTZLAENDER, GABRIEL2 SWARTZLANDER, GABRIEL1 SCHWARTZLANDER) was born November 24, 1763 in New Britain Twp., Bucks, PA, and died January 01, 1836 in Derry, Mifflin, PA. She married ZACHARIAH WILLIAMS March 23, 1780 in Pennsylvania. He was born February 23, 1760 in Wales, Great Britain, and died May 29, 1832 in Dry Valley, Mifflin, PA.

SCHWARTZLANDER/SWARTZLANDER, Elizabeth was born probably 24 November 1763 at New Britain Twp., Bucks Co., PA and died 1 January 1836 possibly at Dry Valley near Maitland, Derry Twp., Mifflin Co. northwest of Lewistown, PA. She reportedly married 23 March 1780 Zachariah WILLIAMS who on 22 September 1781 was enrolled in Captain Henry DARRAH's Company of the Bucks Co. Militia. Zachariah's brother-in-law Philip Jr. #6 was enrolled in the same company earlier that year and both brothers-in-law Gabriel and Conrad SWARTZLANDER served in it. Zachariah was said to have been born 23 February in Wales, and died 29 March 1832 at Dry Valley, PA. Absolute proof of Elizabeth's parentage/ birth has not been located but a great-granddaughter, Mary J. CLOVER McINTYRE, in a 1910 notarized statement at Miami, FL shows birth and death dates for Zachariah and stated he married Elizabeth SWARTZLANDER, no date of birth/death for her, 23rd March 1780. The family apparently moved from Bucks Co. about 1786, the same year that family members #5, 6 & 8 moved to North Carolina, to that part of Cumberland Co., PA which became Mifflin Co. in 1789. In the 1790 census, Zachariah was at Milford Twp., Mifflin Co.; Milford Twp. becoming part of Juniata when that county was formed from Mifflin in 1831. A John WILLIAMS, possibly a relative of Zachariah, was at Milford 1777 when Captain of the First Company, Fourth Battalion, Cumberland Co., PA Militia. By the 1800 census, Zachariah's family had moved across the Juniata River to Derry Twp. where they were again enumerated in 1810 but they were not listed there in 1820 or 1830 census. Their eldest son Amos by June 1821 had moved to that part of Armstrong Co., PA which became Monroe Twp. in 1832 and Clarion Co. in 1839 and is now the village of Williamsburg named after him near the junction of 1-80 and PA Route 68. Zachariah and Elizabeth's daughters Margaret, Eleanor, Elizabeth and possibly Hannah also moved to Clarion Co., PA [an unknown Lidia SWARTZLANDER born ca. 1824, was with daughter Elizabeth's family at Clarion Twp. in 1850 census] while son Edward and daughter Rhoda moved to Indiana and youngest daughter Mary went to Illinois. At the Clarion County Historical Society, there is a WILLIAMS/MITCHELL surname folder that contains a fair amount of material on John WILLIAMS and his relatives. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any researcher's name associated with folder. According to this source:
This file also contains some information on Amos WILLIAMS (1784-1806), a son of Zachariah and Elizabeth (SWARTZLANDER) WILLIAMS. Amos married first Elizabeth MITCHELL(1785-1838) and secondly Mrs. Ruth (LOWERY) ANDERSON. Amos is reported to have been born in Bucks Co., PA. Zachariah is reported to have been born 1760 in Wales, died 1832 in Dry Valley, PA, and served in the New Britain, Bucks Co. Militia during the Revolutionary War. The file doesn't detail any relation between Zachariah and Amos and the above mentioned WILLIAMSes, but a daughter of Zachariah's married a MITCHELL and a son and a daughter married CLOVERs, which are both names that occur on the tombstones at Seceder Cemetery.

Owens went to Minnesota. Martha Owens mar Boyd Fetzer, also to MN. Mary Jane married to Solomon Shirey. Miriam mar. a Johnson, buried Strattonville. Amos Owens, Clarion County. Joseph Miles Owens, my great grandfather, lost a leg at Fredericksburg, went to Maine. Can't find much about Andrew. Thank you for any info.

William Clover, who married Jane Williams. Again, no info on the Williams, just on the Clover. I also have a Mary E. Williams, who married Harrison Clover, son of Phillip Clover and Mary Roll. No info on the Williams, just on the Clover. Mary and Harrison had a son, Richard E. Clover who married Annie Edelblute.

SCHWARTZLANDER/SWARTZLANDER, Elizabeth was born probably 24 November 1763 at New Britain Twp., Bucks Co., PA and died 1 January 1836 possibly at Dry Valley near Maitland, Derry Twp., Mifflin Co. northwest of Lewistown, PA. She reportedly married 23 March 1780 Zachariah WILLIAMS who on 22 September 1781 was enrolled in Captain Henry DARRAH's Company of the Bucks Co. Militia. Zachariah's brother-in-law Philip Jr. #6 was enrolled in the same company earlier that year and both brothers-in-law Gabriel and Conrad SWARTZLANDER served in it. Zachariah was said to have been born 23 February in Wales, and died 29 March 1832 at Dry Valley, PA. Absolute proof of Elizabeth's parentage/ birth has not been located but a great-granddaughter, Mary J. CLOVER McINTYRE, in a 1910 notarized statement at Miami, FL shows birth and death dates for Zachariah and stated he married Elizabeth SWARTZLANDER, no date of birth/death for her, 23rd March 1780. The family apparently moved from Bucks Co. about 1786, the same year that family members #5, 6 & 8 moved to North Carolina, to that part of Cumberland Co., PA which became Mifflin Co. in 1789. In the 1790 census, Zachariah was at Milford Twp., Mifflin Co.; Milford Twp. becoming part of Juniata when that county was formed from Mifflin in 1831. A John WILLIAMS, possibly a relative of Zachariah, was at Milford 1777 when Captain of the First Company, Fourth Battalion, Cumberland Co., PA Militia. By the 1800 census, Zachariah's family had moved across the Juniata River to Derry Twp. where they were again enumerated in 1810 but they were not listed there in 1820 or 1830 census. Their eldest son Amos by June 1821 had moved to that part of Armstrong Co., PA which became Monroe Twp. in 1832 and Clarion Co. in 1839 and is now the village of Williamsburg named after him near the junction of 1-80 and PA Route 68. Zachariah and Elizabeth's daughters Margaret, Eleanor, Elizabeth and possibly Hannah also moved to Clarion Co., PA [an unknown Lidia SWARTZLANDER born ca. 1824, was with daughter Elizabeth's family at Clarion Twp. in 1850 census] while son Edward and daughter Rhoda moved to Indiana and youngest daughter Mary went to Illinois. At the Clarion County Historical Society, there is a WILLIAMS/MITCHELL surname folder that contains a fair amount of material on John WILLIAMS and his relatives. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any researcher's name associated with folder. According to this source:
This file also contains some information on Amos WILLIAMS (1784-1806), a son of Zachariah and Elizabeth (SWARTZLANDER) WILLIAMS. Amos married first Elizabeth MITCHELL(1785-1838) and secondly Mrs. Ruth (LOWERY) ANDERSON. Amos is reported to have been born in Bucks Co., PA. Zachariah is reported to have been born 1760 in Wales, died 1832 in Dry Valley, PA, and served in the New Britain, Bucks Co. Militia during the Revolutionary War. The file doesn't detail any relation between Zachariah and Amos and the above mentioned WILLIAMSes, but a daughter of Zachariah's married a MITCHELL and a son and a daughter married CLOVERs, which are both names that occur on the tombstones at Seceder Cemetery.
