John Clover of Lincolnshire, England and Virginia

John Clover, born 15 April 1827, Friskney, Lincoln, England, son of William Clover and Bridget [Source: https://familysearch.org England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975, source film number: 1541972]
Note that the 1870 and the 1880 censuses say he was born in England although the 1860 census and the marriage record say Connecticut. I am not sure what is going on with that but the birth record makes this clear.

John Clover, born 1828 Essex, Ct., son of Wm Clover and Bridget, married 3 October 1860, Portsmouth City, Virginia, Eliza Ann Milrose, born 1835 New York City, daughter of Saml Stanley and The. Both were widowed. [Virginia Marriages, LDS Pilot Site]
I am not sure that this cemetery record refers to his wife. It seems to me that the cemetery is in an odd place. It is not near Portsmouth.
