     Ellen Rafferty was born circa 1859 in Ohio.¹ She was the daughter of John Rafferty and Ann Ross.¹ Ellen, age 1, was enumerated in the household of her parents on the 1860 Federal Census in Ironton, Lawrence County, Ohio.¹ Follow the link to see the census image. Ellen, age 11, was enumerated in the household of Anna and Thomas Rafferty (her sister-in-law and brother) on the 1870 Federal Census in Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio.
