     Mary Rafferty was born circa 1857 in Ohio.1 She was the daughter of John Rafferty and Ann Ross.1 Mary, age 3, was enumerated in the household of her parents on the 1860 Federal Census in Ironton, Lawrence County, Ohio.1 Follow the link to see the census image. Mary, age 13, was enumerated in the household of Anna and Thomas Rafferty (her sister-in-law and brother) on the 1870 Federal Census in Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio. Her mother and several siblings were also enumerated here.2 Follow the link to see the census image. Mary married Alfred Chinn between 1875 and March 1880 in Lawrence County, Ohio.3
          Alfred, age 33, and Mary, age 23, were enumerated on the 1880 Federal Census in Ironton. Also enumerated in this household was their son, Alfred, age 2 months.4 Follow the link to see the census image. Mary died on 29 May 1905 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.5 She was 48 old.
