Gerrit Knynahorg1 (M)
(October 1838 - )
Last Edited=19 Feb 2005

Gerrit Knynahorg was born in October 1838 in the Netherlands.2 He immigrated from the Netherlands to America around 1872. He later became a naturalized citizen.1 Gerrit, age 63, was enumerated in the household of his son on the 1900 Federal Census at 154th (or 159th) Street in South Holland, Cook County, Illinois.2 Follow the link to see the census image. Gerrit, age 74, was enumerated in the household of his grandson, Peter Van Erden, and his family, on the 1910 Federal Census in South Holland, Cook County, Illinois. He speaks "Dutch."1 Follow the link to see the census image. Gerrit, age 84, was enumerated in the household of his relatives, Jennie and Peter Van Erden, on the 1920 Federal Census at State Street in South Holland, Cook County, Illinois. Gerrit's relationship to Peter is given as grandfather but Peter is only 25 years younger than Gerrit so I believe this is incorrect. Gerrit immigrated in 1872 and later became a naturalized citizen.3 Follow the link to see the census image.
