Ann Ross1 (F) (circa 1828 - October 1889) Last Edited=30 Mar 2005 ![]() Mrs. Ann (Ross) Rafferty, age unknown Ann, John and their children moved to Ironton, Lawrence County, Ohio sometime after their son, James, was born in April of 1853.1 John, age 34, and Ann, age 32, were enumerated on the 1860 Federal Census in Ironton. Also enumerated in this household were their children: John (age 13), Thomas (age 11), Ann (age 10), James (age 8), Edward (age 7), Mary (age 3), and Ellen (age 1). His real estate was valued at $150 and his personal estate was valued at $30.1 Follow the link to see the census image. John died circa 26 May 1864, leaving Ann a widow.3 Ann, age 40, was enumerated in the household of Anna and Thomas Rafferty (her daughter-in-law and son) on the 1870 Federal Census in Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio. Also enumerated here are several of her daughters: Mary (age 13), Ellen (age 11), Elizabeth (age 9), and Annie (age 20).4 Follow the link to see the census image.
