Geortje VanderSyde was born on 14 November 1856 in Illinois.¹ She was the daughter of Goris VanderSyde and Engeltje De Jong. Geortje, age 4, was enumerated in the household of her parents on the 1860 Federal Census for the Blue Island Post Office in Worth Township, Cook County, Illinois.² Geortje died on 31 December 1869. She was 13 old.
