John Park was born in 1800 in Hampshire County, Virginia.1 He was the son of Colonel George Parks and Hanna Mühlschlägel.1 The 1800 census records for Virginia have been lost. Other sources for residence information will need to be found. John married Mary Amos on 18 August 1828 in Virginia.1 John and Mary may have had numerous children but I only know the name of one child, Elizabeth S.. Mary died, leaving John a widower. Elizabeth and John went to live with his parents.1 He is the grandson of Johann Andreas Mühlschlägel, original immigrant.
