Hans Jacob Mühlschlägel was born say 1655.¹ He went by the name of Jacob. Hans Jacob married Anna Margretha (?).² She probably followed German naming customs and was known as Margretha. Jacob and Margretha had at least 6 children but only the names of 3 children are known. These children are Hans Henrich, Anna Christina and Hans Adam. According to one of their son's christening information, Jacob and Margretha Mühlschlägel were from Altorf. However the same son, Hans Adam, was born in Lachen-Speydorf.³ Jacob worked as a schoolmaster in Lachen-Speyerdorf, Palatinate, Bayern, Germany.⁴ He was buried in Lachen.⁵ Jacob is the earliest known progenerator for this family. He is the grandfather of Johann Andreas Mühlschlägel, original immigrant.
