William Johnson Kennemer was born on 22 February 1816 in Kennemer Cove, Marshall County, Alabama. Marshall County was not formed until 1836. I'm not sure which county Kennemer Cove was in during 1816.1 He was the son of Abraham Kennemer and Mary Hoke.2 William married Elizabeth Jane Click, daughter of (?) Click, on 23 December 1841 in Jackson County, Alabama. He was 25 years old; she was 21 years old. William and Elizabeth had at least 13 children. These children are Joseph Henry, George Washington, Lydia Ann, James Abram, William Hensley, Wiley Martin, John Brown, Nancy Jane, Richard Oliver, Mary Elizabeth, Robert David, Martha Frances and Thomas.2 William was described as 5 feet tall, weighing about 150 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He was strongly built. "He had high regard for truth, honesty and honor, strictly law-abiding, taught his children those things necessary to produce a high type of citizenship, a democrat." William died on 6 December 1871 or 7 December 1871 in Limestone County, Alabama.1 He was 55 old.
