     Mary Melson was born in 1733 in Sussex County, Delaware, USA.1 She was the daughter of Daniel Melson and Mary Carey.1 Mary married Joseph Wharton I, son of Francis Wharton III and Ann Harney, in Delaware, USA. Mary and Joseph may have had numerous children but I only know the name of one child, Joseph. Mary died in 1780 in Sussex County, Delaware, USA.1
