  Thomas Jefferson Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, to all to whom these presents shall come greeting Know ye that in consideration of the Ancient Composition of ten shillings sterling paid by Adam Clement into the Treasury of this Commonwealth there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto the said Adam Clement a certain Tract or parcel of Land Containing one hundred and two Acres by Survey bearing Date the thirty first day of March one Thousand Seven hundred and Seventy three Lying and being in the County of Bedford on head Branches of Beaver Creek and bounded as followeth, to wit, Beginning at Hyltons Corner white oak in Anthonys Line thence along Hyltons Line North fifty Poles to his corner white Oak near a small Branch North Sixty degrees West one hundred and Twenty poles to his Corner pine North twenty four degrees East one hundred and fourteen poles to his Corner pine North forty one degrees East Sixty poles to his Corner pine North Sixty six degrees East Sixty eight poles to his corner Pointers on his own Line thence along his own Line South one hundred and Sixteen poles to his Corner pointers South Sixty three degrees West one hundred and fourteen poles to his corner pine South thirty five degrees East thirty poles to his Corner pointers South Sixty degrees East one hundred poles to his Corner red oak South eighty degrees East fifteen poles to his and Anthonys Corner white Oak thence along Anthonys Lines South sixty five degrees West fifty one poles to his Corner red Oak and South thirty eight degrees West twenty four poles to the first Station with its Appurtenances to have and to hold the said Tract or parcel of Land with its appurtenances to the said Adam Clement and his Heirs forever In witness whereof the said Thomas Jefferson Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath hereunto set his hand and Caused the Seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the First day of September in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven hundred and eighty and of the Commonwealth the fifth
