Esquire Governour of the Commonwealth of Virginia To all to whom these presents
shall come Greeting Know Ye that in Consideration of the Ancient Composition
of one pound Sterling paid by John Hubbard into the Treasury of this Commonwealth
there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto the said John Hubbard a Certain
Tract or parcel of Land Containing Two hundred acres by Survey bearing date
the third day of January one Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty one lying
and being in the County of Pittsylvania in the fork of Pole Cat Creek and
bounded as followeth, to Wit, Beginning at Hezekiah Piggs Corner poplar
on one fork of the said Creek and thence a new line North Eighty eight degrees
East one hundred and Sixty five poles to a Gum on the other fork of the
said Creek and down the same as it Meanders to Christopher Hutchings sides
line and thence the same North Sixty three degrees West forty four poles
Crossing the fork of the Said Creek to a hickory and Red oak South thirteen
degrees West Ninety four poles to pointers in Piggs line aforesaid and thence
the same South Thirty degrees West Forty six poles to a white oak South
Nineteen degrees West ten poles to a white oak South Fifty degrees West
Fifty four poles to a white oak South Thirty degrees West Forty poles to
a white oak South Twenty one degrees East Seventy poles to the Beginning
with its appurtenances To have and to hold the said Tract or parcel of Land
with its appurtenances to the said John Hubbard and his Heirs forever In
Witness whereof the said Benjamin Harrison Esquire Governour of the Commonwealth
of Virginia hath hereunto set his hand and caused the lesser seal of the
said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the Eighteenth day of March
in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty four and of
the Commonwealth the Eighth
