Know all men by these presents that we Leander Hughes and his wife Letitia Edward M Clement William A. Lacy and his wife Agness J Lacy Sally J Clement David Hunt and his wife Ann J Hunt Elizabeth J Clement Ephraim D Harris and his wife Mary M and Martha M Susan Clement Heirs at Law of Johnson Clement for and in Consideration of the Sum of Ten thousand dollars to them in hand paid hath this day sold to him the said Johnson Clement all the right we have in the following Slaves viz Hanner Carlote Alexander London Amy Ruth Eliza Mariah Tener Tonenn Sary Will [?] Ester Pall [?] Marica James Lucy which Slaves with thar increase was loaned by the last will and testament of Matthew Moore to his daughter Elizabeth Moore and at her death given to the Heirs of her body and we Leander Hughes & his wife Letitia and Edward M. Clement and William A Lacy and his wife Agness J. Lacy Sally J Clement and David Hunt and his wife Ann J Hunt and Elizabeth J Clement and Ephraim D Harris and his wife Mary and Martha M Susan Clement do bind ourselves & our heirs to warrant and forever defend the title of said Slaves to the Said Johnson Clement and heirs Heirs and assigns against us and our heirs and assigns and against the Claim of all persons claiming under us our Heirs or assigns In Testimony whereof we have hereunto Set our hands & Seals this 11th day of September 1836
