Clement from Johnson Dalton This Indenture made this ninth day of December in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred & nineteen Between Johnathan Dolton of the county of Surry & State of NC. of the one part & Johnson Clement of the County of Stokes & State aforesd. of the other part Witnesseth that the sd. Johnathan Dolton for & in consideration of the sum of thirteen thousand dollars to him in hand paid by the sd. Johnson Clement the receipt whereof is herby the sd. Johnathan Dolton do the hereby freely acknowledge hath given granted bargined & sold & confirmed unto the sd. Johnson Clement his heirs & assigns forever all that tract & parcel of land situate lying & being in the county of Surry & state aforesd. on the north side of the yadkin river Begining at a Burch on the north bank of sd. river near the mouth of Hagens creek runing north eighty poles to a stake thence along Jeremiah Earlys line to a white Oak corner near Hagens creek thence west along Doltons line known by the name of Freeman five hundred acre tract to Haffords branch known by the name of Haffords little branch or the budge branch which branch is the boundary line of Charles ? land on the east thence down the meanders of the branch to the river thence down the meanders of the river to begining including part of too tracts of land one the tract of land conveyed to Morgan Bryant by the Earl of Granvile in 1722 it then conveyed to Joshua Freeman by the state in 1801 which land contains seven hundred forty nine acres be the same more or less & also all the woods ways waters & water courses & all & every the apperntenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining & the reversion & reversions & reversions remainder & remainders rents issues & profits of the aforesd. lands & premises & every part thereof & all the estate right title interest claim property & demand whatsoever of the sd. Johnathan Dolton for in & to the lands & premises hereby granted to have & to hold the aforesd. lands & premises with the appertenances unto the sd. Johnson Clement his heirs & assigns to the only proper use & behoof of the sd. Johnson Clement his heirs & assigns forever & the sd. Johnathan Dolton for himself his heirs executors administrators & assigns doth covenant & agree to & with the sd. Johnson Clement that he is lawfully seized in fee of the sd. premises that they are free from all incumbrances that he hath a good right to sell & convey the land to the sd. Johnson Clement to hold as aforesd. & he the sd. Johnathan Dolton for himself & his heirs & assigns the abovesd. lands & premises & every part thereof against against himself his heirs executors administrators & assigns & against the claim or claims of all & every other person or persons whatsoever unto the sd. Johnson Clement his heirs & executors administrator & assigns shall & will warrant & forever warrant & defend by these presents in testimony whereof the sd. Johnathan Dolton hath hereunto set his hand & affixed his seal the day & year first above written signed sealed & delivered in presence of
Surry County August term 1837 The execution of the within deed was duly proven in open court by the oath of Leander Hughes a subscribing witness thereto & ordered to be registered
