This Indenture
made this 17th day of October 1814 between Joshua Brooks of the County of
Shelby of the One part & James
Clements of Barren County of the other part Witnesseth that the sd.
Brooks hath bargained & Sold for $100 by these presents doth Grant Bargain
& Sell unto the said Clements
a Certain tract or parcel of land lying & being in Shelby County Containing
50 Acres being part of John Mays 2200 Acre Survey bounded as follows Beginning
at 3 beeches & dogwood corner to John Saunders and Jacob Yoders line
thence with the Said Yoder S 28 W 14 poles to a Stake thence in the original
line of John Mays 2200 thence with the same N61 W 171 poles to a stake thence
N 28 E 140 poles to a stake in John Saunders's line, thence S 527 E 571
poles to the Beginning To have & to hold the said 50 acres of land with
all its appurtenances free from the Claim or Claims of him the sd. Joshua
Brook his heirs & assigns forever unto the said James
Clements his heirs but no other persons whatever In Testimony whereof
the said Joshua has hereunto Set his hand & Seal the day & date
first above written
Shelby County Sct. October County Court 1814 This Deed was produced in Court & Acknowledged by Joshua Brooks to be his acts & Deed & thereupon the same was duly Recorded
