This Indenture made the 12th day of April in the year one thousand eight
hundred and sixty nine between Stephen F. Clement of the County of Pittsylvania
of the first part and Benjamin T. Clement of the same County of the second
part. Witnesseth that the said Stephen F. Clement for and in consideration
of the sum of two thousand dollars to him duely paid before the delivery
hereof, hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant and convey
to the said Benjamin T. Clement his heirs and assigns forever all of the
said Benjamin T. Clements interest willed to him by his
deceased father both real and personal. the said interest having been
previously deeded to me on the ninth day of May
one thousand eight hundred and sixty eight by the said Benjamin T.
Clement And the said Stephen F. Clement doth hereby covenant and agree
with the said Benjamin T. Clement that at the time of the delivery hereof
the said Stephen F. Clement is the lawful owner of the said interesst
in the estate of the late George
W. Clement and that he will warrant and defend the interest hereby
granted in the quiet and peaceable possession of the said Benjamin T.
Clement his heirs and assigns forever. In witness whereof I have hereto
set my hand and seal this the 16 day of April in the year one thousand
eight hundred and sixty nine.
In the Clerks Office of the County Court of Pittsylvania County on the 16th
day of April 1869 . The foregoing writing was acknowledged by Stephen F.
Clement to be his act and admitted to record.
