This Indenture made this the 2" day of June 1871 between Benjamn T Clement and Sally J Clement his wife of the County of Pittsylvania State of Virgniia parties of the first part and Henry C Clement of the County and State aforesaid partie of the second part, Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum two thousand three hundred & fourteen dollars the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged the parties of the first part doth hereby grant bargain and sell unto Henry C Clement party of the second part a certain tract or parcel of land on the South Side of turkey cock creek in the County of Pittsylvania State of Virginia bounded as follows beginning at a white oak in Walkers line thence off a new dividing line S 57 1/2° W 62 poles crossing a branch to black gum & chesnut S 85° W 80 poles crossing branch to a bunch of maples S 25° W 64 poles crossing branch to a red oak S 3° W 43 poles to a red oak S 43 1/4° E 20 1/4 poles to a red oak S 7 1/2° E 74 poles crossing branch to a red oak S 7 1/2° W 52 poles crossing branch to a rock in T C Hubbards line and with it S 87° E 253 poles crossing two branches to pointers in Frillers line N 2° E 2141 poles crossing two branches to pointers in Walkers line N 67° W 139 poles to the begining containing four hundred and twenty Seven acres be the same more or less And the parties of the first part doth hereby covenant and agree to and with the said Henry C Clement that they will warrant generally the title to the land hereby conveyed, In testimony whereof we the parties of the first part have hereunto set our hands and fixed our seals this the day & year first written

I Bruce A Pullen a Justice of the peace for the said County do hereby certify that Benjamin T Clement whose name is signed to the above deed bearing the date the 2 of June 1871 acknowledged the same before me Given under my hand this the 2 day of June 1871

Pittsylvania County to wit
We F. R Cousins & Bruce A Pullen Justices of peice for the County aforesaid do hereby certify that Sallie J Clement wife of Benjamin T Clement a partie to the above deed bearing date the 2 of June 1871 having been by us examined privily and apart from her husband and having the said deed read and explained to her acknowledged that She had willingly signed the same and that She did not wish to retract it. Given under our hands this the day of June 1871

In the Clerks office of the County Court of Pittsylvania County on the 17" day of June 1871 The foregoing writing was admitted to record upon the certificates of its acknowledgment thereto annexed and I do certify that two dollars and fifty cents in revenue Stamps have been placed on said writing according to law.
