This Indenture
made this 27th Day of March and in the year of our Lord one Thousand seven
Hundred and Seventy Eight Between Jesse Robertson of the County of Pittsylvania
of the part and Francis Sampson of the County of Pittsylvania of the other
part Witnesseth that the said Robertson and Betty
Robertson his wife for and in Consideration of the sum of Seventy five
Pounds Current money of Virginia to them in hand paid by the said Sampson
on or before the Sealing and Delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof
they the said Jesse Robertson and Betty
Robertson his wife do acknowledge themselves fully Satisfied Contented
and paid of & every part and parcel of a certain Tract or parcel of
Land hath Granted Bargained Sold and Delivered and Doth by these Presents
Grant Bargain Sell & Deliver Enfeoff and Confirm unto the said Francis
Sampson one Certain Tract or Parcel of Land Situate Lying and being in the
County of Pittsylvania and on the Waters of Middle Creek Containing 200
Acres be the same more or less and bounded as follows Beginning at the Medow
Road on the said Robertson Line thence along the said Line to Burton Pains
Corner from thence along the said Robertson line to John Cox line thence
along the said Robertsons Line to Richard Farthings along the said to a
Corner Red Oak Saplin from thence a New Line to a Corner Pine on the said
medow Road thence down the said Road to the Begining Together with the Appurtenances
thereunto Belonging with all Houses Orchards Woods Ways Meadow grounds thereunto
Belonging or in any wise appurtaining and all Profits Claim Interest or
Demand whatsoever in fee Simple and the said Robertson doth Warrant the
same aforesaid Tract or Parcel of Land and Premises to the said Francis
him from free from any Incumbrances Deeds Deeds of Trust Mortguages Bonds
Bills or Outrants and Pole Tax whatsoever that might be Required to the
Date of these presents to the only proper use and Behoof of him the said
Francis Sampson his heirs Executors Administrators and assigns forever from
the Just Claim or Claims of any Person or Persons whatsoever against your
heirs and Assigns forever we the said Jesse Robertson and Betty
Robertson his wife do oblige our Selves our heirs and Assigns to make
any further Acts or Deeds of Conveyance of the said piece parcel or Tract
of Land aforesaid when thereunto requested Witness our hands and seals his
day and year above Written
Memorandom that the within within mentioned Tract or Parcel of Land and Premises was Peacably had of the said Francis Sampson According to the True Intent and meaning of the within Indenture by the said Sampson Witness our hands the Day & year within Written
Received 27 day of March 1778 the Sum of Seventy five Pounds being the full of the within Consideration Witness our hands & c.
At a Court Continued & held for Pittsylvania County the 27th Day of March 1778 This Indenture together with the Memorandum of Livery and Seizen and Receipt hereon indorsed was Acknowledged by the within Named Jesse Roberson to be his Several Acts and Deed & the same was Ordered to be Recorded By the Court
