  This Indenture Made this Twenty five day of February One thousand Seven hundred and Eighty five Between William Owen of Pittsylvania County and State of Virginia of the one part and Hezekiah Pigg of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the Said William Owen and his Wife Edey for and in Consideration of a Certain Satisfaction made unto them the day and date above Written by the said Hezekiah Pigg doth hereby acknowledge & the said William Owen and his Wife Edey hath granted bargained and Sold & by these presents doth confirm unto the said Hezekiah Pigg his Heirs and assigns forever one Certain Tract or parcel of Land lying in the County aforesaid on both sides of Banister River Containing by estimation One hundred Acres be the same more or Less and bounded as follows Beginning on Little bear Skin at a Corner poplar from thence to William Piggs former Corner from thence to Jesse Robinsons Corner red oak from thence to a new Corner in John Piggs old line of the Mill Survey thence up said line to Jesse Robinsons Corner from thence Crossing the Mill pond to a Corner White oak Saplin on the South Side of the Mill pond from thence down Hezekiah Piggs line to a Corner Chesnut from thence of to a Corner Near Hezekiah Piggs Spring from thence a long said Piggs line to a Corner in Bekums Line thence a long Bekums Line to Banister River up said River Meandering to Corner pointers in the old field from thence a New Line to the Begining including all on the south side of Banister Together with a Certain piece of Ground all and for a Grave Yard between four Stones with all its appurtenances or commodities appurtaining to the said Land To have and to hold unto the sd. Hezekiah Pigg his Heirs and assigns forever and the said William Owen & his Wife Edey doth oblige themselves by these presents to Warrant unto the said Hezekiah Pigg and his Heirs & c. a Clear Right and absolute Title to the said Land from them and their Heirs & all other persons Laying a Claim thereunto as their legal property In Witness whereof we have hereunto Set our hands & Seals the day and year above mentioned

At a Court for Pittsylvania County the 21th day of Feby 1785
The within Indenture was acknowledged by the within named William Owen to be his Act and Deed & afterwards to Wit a Court held for the said County the 20th day of June 1785 Edey the Wife of the said William Owen came into Court & being privily examined as the Law directs Relinquished her right of dower in and to the within Granted Land and premises All which were Ordered to be Recorded By the Court
