  This Indenture Made the Twenty eight day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty nine Between Adam Cleamins and Agness his wife of the one part of the County of Bedford and Robert Hairstone of the same county of the other part Witnesseth that the said Adam Clement and Agness his wife for and in Consideration of one Hundred Pounds Lawfull Money of Virginia to him in hand payed the Receipt whereof he doth hereby Acknowledge hath granted Bargained Sold Released and Confirmed and by these Presents doth grant Bargain Sell Release and confirm unto Robert Hairstone and to his Heirs and assigns forever one Certain Tract of Land Containing two Hundred acres Lying and being in the County of Pittsylvania at the fork of Runnet bag Creek a north branch of Irvin River and Bounded as Followeth To Wit Begining at a Chestnut and Runing thence new lines North Twenty degrees East Crossing a Branch one Hundred and forty poles to a dogwood South Sixty five degrees West Crossing Otter Creek one of the Forks of the said Runnet Bag and four Branches four Hundred and four poles to a locust on the north side of Runnet Bag Creek thence down the said Creek as it Meanders Thirty four Poles to hiccory on the South side thence off South Fifteen Degrees East Sixty poles to a white Oak by a Branch East fourty two poles to a poplar by a Branch north Twenty five degrees East one Hundred & Two Poles to a Hiccory North Eighty Degrees East Eighty Eight poles to a Hiccory on the South side of the Creek below the fork and thence Crossing the Creek north Eighty Poles to the first Station with all woods Swamps meadows and all other Profits and Commodities to the same Belonging and all the Estate Title Interest Claim and Demand what soever of him the said Adam Clement and Agness his wife in and to the said Land and Premises and every part thereof to have and to Hold the Said Tract of Land and all other the before granted Premisses with their Appertenances unto the said Robert Hairston and to his heirs & assigns forever to the only Proper use and behooff of him the said Robert Hairston his Heirs and assigns forever and the said Adam Clement and Agness his wife for them and their heirs the said Land and Premises against them and their Heirs and all other persons Claims and from by or under them or any of them to the said Robert Hairston Shall and will Warrant and forever defend by these Presents In Witness whereof the Adam Clement & Agness his wife hath hereunto set their hand and Seals the day and year above Written

Memorandum That on the Twenty eight Day of July one thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty nine Quiet & Peaceable Possession & Seizen of the within Land and Premises with their Appertenances was had and Taken by the within named Adam Clement & Agness his wife & then Delivered to the within Named Robert Hairston his Heirs & assigns forever
in Presence of } Adam Clement

Received of the within Named Robert Hairston One Hundred Pounds Current Money of Virginia it being full Satisfaction for the within Sold Land and Premises I Say Rec.d thus.

At a Court held for Pittsylvania County on the 28th Day of July 1769
The within Indenture together with the Memorandum of Livery & Seizen and Receipt hereon endorsed was acknowledged by the above named Adam Clements to be his Several acts and Deeds all which were Ordered to be Recorded By the Court
