William CLEMENT (d. 1760) of Amelia County, Virginia - A Study of His Descendants

This Deed made this 18th day of March in the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy three between Wm A. Witcher Trustee for Jane A. Witcher of the first part and Wm. B. Hurt of the second part witnesseth; that in consideration of nine hundred and fifty dollars cash in hand heretofore paid by said party of the second part to said party of the first part the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged. And in consideration further of the request of Jane A. Witcher to said party of the first part to execute this deed of release the said party of the first part doth release to said party of the second part so much of the real estate conveyed to said party of the first part by said party of the second part by deed of Nov. 1st 1869 recorded in the Clerks Office of Pittsylvania County Va. As is hereinafter particularly described Viz. That portion of the lot on which is situated the dwelling house and described as follows. Beginning at the intersection of Old St. with Court Street Chatham running thence with court St. 383 ½ W ...... Containing 1 A. oR. 8 79/100 Po, about 1.20 acres the same being a portion of the lot conveyed by John L. Hurt and wife to Wm. B. Hurt by deed executed and recorded in the aforesaid County Court Clerks Office Nov 1st 1869, referred to which deed is hereby made for a more particular description of the whole of said lot provided however that this deed of release shall not operate to release the title of said Trustee to the balance of the property conveyed in the aforesaid deed of Wm. B. Hurt to said Trustee or to release either Wm. B. Hurt or John L. Hurt from the balance due on the $2500 bond mentioned in said deed of Wm. B. Hurt to said Trustee aforesaid.
