  This Indenture made this the Twenty Eight day of March in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy four Between Stephen Clement and Sarah his Wife of the County of Pittsylvania of the One part and Richard James of Cumberland County of the other part Witnesseth that the Said Stephen Clement and Sarah his Wife doth hereby acknowledge hath given Granted Bargained and Sold and by these presents doth give Grant Bargain sell Deliver and Confirm to him the Said Richard James his heirs or assigns forever one Certain Tract or parcel of Land situate lying and being in the County of Bedford Containing Two Hundred Acres Lying on both Sides of Ivy Creek and is Bounded as followeth, to wit, Begining at Richard Jameses Corner pointers on Peter Torquirans line then on Torquirans line North forty five Degrees West Ninety two poles to pointers then South Sixty five Degrees West One Hundred and Eighty Eight poles to a Red oak then South forty two Degrees West One Hundred and thrity poles to a Corner then South Thirty Degrees East Eighty Seven Poles to Pointers then New lines North fifty four Degrees East three Hundred and Thirty Seven poles to the first Station as by a Deed made to Rowland horsley Birks Dated the Twenty fifth day of August One thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty four Reference thereto being had will at large appear together with all and Singular the Priviledges and Appertainances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining To have and to Hold the above Sold Land and Permises with all the appertainances unto the Said Richard James his Heirs and Assigns forever To the only proper use and behoof of him the Said Richard James his Heirs and Assigns forever against him the said Stephen Clement his heirs or assigns and against the Clame and Demand of all other persons Whatsover shall and will by these presents Warrant and forever will defend In Wittness thereof he the Said Stephen Clement and Sarah his Wife hath hereunto set their hands and Seals the day and Year first above Written

This Indenture and Memorandum of Livery of Seisin thereon Indorsed were asknowledged by Stephen Clement and Sarah his Wife the Said Sarah having been first privily Examined According to Law who Relinquished her right of Dower in and to the Land and Premises conveyed by this Indenture which is Ordered to be Recorded
