  This Indenture made this twenty sixth day of Stepember in the year of our lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty nine John Clement of Bedford County of the one part & Alexander Stuart Merchant at R Ridge on the other part Witnesseth that for and in Consideration of two hundred and fifty one pounds three shillings six pence Lawful money of Virginia Which he the said John Clement is Justly In debt to the said Alexander Stewart and honestly Desiring to pay him & for the further Consideration of five shillings like money to the said John in hand paid by the said Alexander at the sealing and Delivering of these presents the Reciept Whereof the said John does hereby acknowledge and thereof and Every part does Discharge the said Alex.r he the said John has granted bargained sold and Confirmed & by these presents does Grant bargain sell unto the said Alexander his heirs & assigns all my land in Bedford County viz Lying and being upon Morgans Mill Creek & Joining Jacob Pyburn & James Umphrays tracks Containing two hundred and ten acres more or Less with all the appurtinances belonging to or in any Wise appurtaining to the premises hereby Granted or Intended to be granted and the Reversion and Reversions and the Remainder and Remainders and all servises Benefits and ?? Rights Claims Interests & Securitys Relating to the same to have and to hold the said land and premises unto the said Alexander his heirs and assigns forever and he the said John Clement ?? by Grant for himself and his heirs that he and they shall and will Warrant and forever Defend the said Land and premises and any part thereof With all and singular their Rights and appurtenances unto the said Alexander Stuart his heirs Executors and assigns and against the said John Clements his heirs Execttors and assigns and Every person and persons Whatsoever Upon trust Nevertheless the said Alexander Stuart his heirs and assigns shall after the first day of Septr. in the year of our lord one thousand huven hundred and Seventy three years as soon as the said Alex.r Stuart his heirs and assigns shall think proper or the said Clements shall Request him which Ever of these two Circumstances shall first happen sell to the highest Bidder after Giving Ten days publick Notice the said Land & premises and of the money arising from said sale pay and satisfy to themselves as far as it will go the above mentioned Sum of Two hundred and fifty one three shillings ans six pence with Lawful Interest on the same from this date until paid with the Expence of Bearing and Recording this Indenture and all other Contingent Charges that may arrise from said sale and the said Alex.r Stuart his heirs and assigns shall pay or Cause to be paid the overplus if any Remaining from said sale to the said John Clements his heirs or assigns In Witness Whereof the said John has hereunto set hand and seal in the Day and year first above Written
