  This Indenture made the twenty third day of december in the year of Christ one thousand Seven hundred & Seventy seven Between William Clement of the County of Amelia of the one part & John Tabb of the same County of the other part Witnesseth that the said William Clement for & in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty nine pounds to him in hand paid by the said John Tabb the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge hath granted & bargained & sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said John Tabb his heirs & assigns forever one Certain Tract or parcel of land situate in the said County containing by Estimation one hundred and fifty acres be the same more or less adjoining the Land of George Booker and the said John Tabb together with all and Singular the Appurtenances thereunto belonging To have and to hold the said Tract or parcel of Land unto him the said John Tabb his heirs & assigns forever To the only proper use and behoof of him the said John Tabb his heirs & assigns forever and the said Wm. Clement doth Covenant Promise & grant to and with the Said John Tabb that he the said William Clement his heirs Exors. & Admrs. the above granted land premises unto the said John Tabb & his heirs & assigns against the Claim of the said Wm. Clment and his heirs and all other persons Whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents In Witness whereof the said Wm. Clement hath hereunto Set his hand and Seal the day & year above Written

Memorandum that quiet and Peaceable possession of the within mentioned land & premises was acknowledged to be made by the said William Clement to the sd. John Tabb this 23rd day of december 1777 before these Witnesses
