| This Indenture
made this 24th day of July in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand Seven
Hundred and Sixty Six Between Bathsheba
Major of the Parish of Raleigh in the County of Amelia of the one part
& William Major of the same Parish & County of the other part Witnesseth
that the said Bathsheba Major
for divers Good Causes and Considerations her thereby Moving but more especially
for and in consideration of the sum of One Hundred Pounds Current money
of Virginia to her in hand paid by the said William Major the Receipt whereof
she doth hereby acknowledge hath Given Granted Bargained Sold Aliened Releast
and Confirmed and by these Presents Doth Give Grant Bargain Sell Alien Release
and confirm to the said William Major and to his Heirs & Assigns forever
a certain Tract or parcel of Land lying and being in the County aforesaid
Containing Fifty Acres be the same more or less and Bounded as followeth
to wit Beginning at William Hurts line at a White Oak thence along the Line
of Markt trees to a Red oak on John Hills Line thence along John Hills Line
to Richard Jones Line thence along the said Line to William Hurts Line thence
along the said Line to the Beginning & all Buildings Woods & underwoods
Standing or Growing upon the Premises and allways Edificies profits Comadities
and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining
& the Reversion & Reversions Remainder and Remainders thereof and
all right title intruse intrust Property Clain & demand of Her the said
Barthsheba Major of and in all
and Singular the Premises with all and every their Insedants and all evidences
Writings or or Minumants of or concerning the said Land or Premises To have
and to hold the said Tract or parcel of Land with all and Singular the Premises
therein before mentioned ment or intended to be hereby Granted with all
and every their Appurtenances unto the said William Major and to his Heirs
& assigns to the only use and behoof of the said William Major and of
his Hiers and assigns forever from the said Bathsheba
Major and Her Heirs & Assigns forever the said Tract or parcel of
Land and all the Singular the Premises herein before mentioned with all
the appurtenances unto the sd. William Major his Heirs and Assigns and to
his and their only Proper use and uses against the Challenge Claim &
Demand of all Persons whatsoever Shall & Will Warrant and forever by
these presents Defend In Witness whereof the said Bathsheba
Major hath hereunto set her Hand & Seal the day & year above
written
Memorandum that on the twenty fourth day of July One thousand Seven hundred
and Sixty six Peaceable Possession of the Within Mentioned Land &
Premises was Granted to the within named William Major by the within Named
Bathsheba Major Covenanter of
these Presents
At a Court held for Amelia County July the 24th 1766
This Indenture and the Memorandum endorsed were Acknowledged by the within
named Bathsheba Major party
thereto and ordered to be Recorded
