This Indenture made this twenty second Day November one thousand seven hundred and sixty in the thirty fourth year of our Sovereign Lord George the second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith & Anno domni one thousand seven hundred and Sixty Between Francis Clement of Amelia County of the one part and Lyne Shackleford of King and Queen County of the other part Witnesseth that the said Francis Clement for and Consideration of the sum of one hundred Pounds Current Money of Virginia by the said Lyne Shackleford to the said Francis Clement in hand paid at and before the Insealing & Delivery of these Presents The Reciept whereof the said Francis Clement doth hereby acknowledge and thereof and every part thereof doth Acquit and Discharge the said Lyne Shackleford his heirs Executors and Administrators have given granted Bargained Sold Infeofed and Confirmed and by these Presents Do give grant Bargain Sell Infeoff and Confirm to the said Lyne Shackleford his heirs and Assigns forever one Tract or Parcel of Land Situate lying and being in the County of Amelia aforesaid Containing two hundred and Eighty eight acres by Estimation be the same more or less and Bounded as followeth, To wit, by John Clement Jacob Seay Moses Estes & George Hamm the same as it mentioned to the first Situation with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging and all the Right Title Interest property Claim & Demand whatsoever of him the said Francis Clement of in and to the Premises of every part or parcel thereof To have and To hold the Premises aforesaid with the appurtenances to the said Lyne Shackleford his heirs & Assigns forever to the only use and Behoof of him the said Lyne Shackleford his heirs and Assigns forever and no other use intent or purpose whatsoever and the said Francis Clement for himself his heirs Executors & Administrators Every of them doth Covenant promise & agree & with the said Lyne Shackleford his heirs & Assigns in manner & form following that the said Lyne Shackleford his heirs or Assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times hereafter Peaceably and Quietly have hold & possess Occupy and Enjoy the said Premises with the appurtenances and Every part and parcel thereof without the Lawful Set Suit hindrance Interruption Eviction Molestation or Disturbance of him the said Francis Clement his heirs or Assigns or any other Person or persons whatsoever having a Lawfully Claiming or which shall have or Lawfully Claiming any Right Title or Interest into or out of the said Premises, with the appurtenances or any part thereof and also free and Clearly discharged of & from all forms and other Bargains Sales Gifts grants Feoffements Pointers Dowery Lease with intail Statute Judgments Recognizants Mortgages Executions Rents Covenants & all other charges Titles troubles & Incumbrances whatsoever & that the said Francis Clement his heirs Executors and Administratior the Premises aforesaid with the appurtenances to the said Lyne Shackleford his heirs and Assigns against all persons whatsoever shall & will warrant and by these Presents forever Defend In Witness whereof the Party to these Presents have Interchangeably set his hand & Seal the day and year above mentioned.

At a Court held for Amelia County the 27th Day of November 1760.
This Indenture and the Memorandum endorsed where acknowledge by the within named Francis Clement party thereto and Ordered to be recorded and Elizabeth the Wife of the said Francis personally appear in court and having been first privily examined as the Law directs voluntarily relinquished her right of Dower in the Lands and Premises Conveyed by this Indenture.
