Sworn Deputy Clerk
Hezekiah Ford Gent produces a Commission form the Honble Thomas Nelson
Esqr. Secretary of the Colony and Dominion of Virginia to be Deputy Clerk
of this County which being read the said Hezekiah Ford takes the Oaths
appointed by Act of Parliament to be taken instead of the Oaths of Allegiance
and Supremacy the Oath appointed to be taken by Act of Parliament made
in the first year of the Reign of his late Majesty King George the first
Intituled and Act for the further Security of his Majesties person and
Government & the succession of the Crown in the Heirs of the late
Princess Sophia being Protestants and for extinguishing the hopes of the
pretended prince of Wales and his open and Secrett Abettors who also Subscribes
the test and takes the Oath of a County Court Clerk and he is thereupon
Admitted to the Execution of his office.
