William's death certificate is hard to read and opens some interesting questions, but the facts lead to it being the correct person. Lydia is listed as his spouse. His parents are listed as J. W. Goode and Sarah Jane Parsons, so this "William" is verified at Ernest's brother. Regarding discrepancies, first, the middle name is un-readable. It looks like "Scar", but it's probably "Oscar" because the 1900 census lists his middle initial as "O". Second, the cemetery listed is also hard to read. It could be "Hard Shell" or "Mayd Shell", but there is no such cemetery listed for Tyler, TCTX. The online list on Find-A-Grave for Pilgrim Rest Cemetery in Woodville, TCTX lists "William Goode", and the date match, this is probably the same person.
