Obituary, The Fostoria Review Times, March 7, 1996, P. 9, Column 7: Ova Peters - Ova F. Peters, 97, formerly of rural Findlay, died at 5:35 p.m. March 5 at The Heritage. She was born Aug. 5, 1898 in Marion Township of Hancock County to Jasper and Emma (Smith) Hartman. She married J. Wilbur Peters on Oct. 12, 1918 and he died June 5, 1980. She is survived by one son, Gerald Marvin, rural Findlay; five daughters, Nana Lee, Grace Sherman, and Karl (Gertrude P.) Ginrich all of rural Findlay, Doris Basinger of Pandora and Mrs. Jack (Sharyn S.) Sheehan of Sarasota, Fla.; 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Clare Hartman, three sisters, Ethel Thomas, Dale Shuck and Lela Marvin and one granddaughter. Mrs. Peters was a homemaker and lifelong member of Eagle Creek Primitive Baptist Church, Jackson Township. She attended the Little Red School House and was a former member of the Biglick Grange, Pomona and National Grange. Services will be private at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay, with Elder Glen Funk officiating. Burial will be at Union Cemetery, West Independence. Visitation is Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the church.

Obituary, The Fostoria Review News, June 6, 1980, P. 2, Column 7: J. Wilber Peters - J. Wilber Peters, 83, Findlay, died at 4:40 a.m. Thursday at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. He was born March 15, 1897, in Biglick Township to George and Lucy (Kinsel) Peters. On Oct. 12, 1918, he married Ova Hartman, and she survives. Also surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Naden (Doris) Basinger, Pandora; Mrs. Nana Lee, Mrs. James (Grace) Sherman and Mrs. Carl (Gertrude) Sheehan, Sarasota, Fla.; a son, Gerald Marvin, Findlay, 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Peters was a farmer. He lived in the same home his entire life. He was a member of the National Grange, a former school board member and received the Conservation Award from the Soil Conservation Service. He attended the Enon Valley Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Coldren Crates Funeral Home, Findlay, with Pastor A. Miller Young officiating. Burial will in Union Cemetery, West Independence. Visitation will be at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today.
