In the name of God Amen, I George KING of the County of Logan and State of Kentucky being weak and feeble in body but of usual strength of mind and memory do publish and declare this my last will and testament hereby revoking and setting aside all others heretofore made by me.
1st I will and direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid out of my estate by my executor to be hereafter named and that my body be buried in a decent and Christian like manner.
2nd I will and bequeath to my beloved wife Sarah KING one half of the tract of land in which I now reside containing two hundred and ninety two acres, the said tract to be divided by a line running as follows commencing at the South corner of the TRAUGHBER twenty eight acres survey and running East until it intersects my eastern line the north part containing the dwelling house and all other appurtenances therein I bequeath to my wife aforesaid during her lifetime. I further will and bequeath to my beloved wife a negro woman named Cloe during her life also a negro man named Joseph during her widowhood also a sufficiency of horses and other livestock, farming utensils, household and kitchen furnished for her use and for her use cultivating the portion of the farm left her. Also the blacksmith shop and lot the remainder of my stock and other personal property.

pg 464) to be sold by my executor and the proceeds equally divided between my two youngest children Amanda CASEY and George KING.
3rd I will and bequeath to my daughter Eliza KENNEDY five dollars to be paid her by my executor. I having heretofore given and put into her possession her full and equal portion and (4th) bequeath to my son Thompson KING five dollars to be paid to him by my executor I having heretofore given & put him in possession of an equal and full portion of my estate.
5th I will and bequeath to my daughter Emily GORDON five dollars to be paid to her by my executor I having heretofore given and put her in possession of her full proportion of my estate.
6th I will and bequeath to Eleanor and William WINES children of my step-daughter Rosanna WINES five dollars each to be paid by my executor to them or their lawful guardian I having given to their mother in her lifetime her portion of my estate. I will and bequeath to my daughter Amanda CASEY and her heirs free from the control of her husband the following named slaves, one negro boy named Mitchel and one negro girl named Sarah Ann and her increase to the said Amanda and her heirs I having heretofore given her a boy named Ben, horse, saddle, bridle, bed & furniture.
8th I will and bequeath to my son George KING the following named slaves and their increase one boy named Perry and one named Simeon and one girl named Caroline also the remainder of the tract of land on which I reside and attached to the land bequeathed by me to his mother Sarah KING as herein specified also one horse, saddle & bridle, beds, bedstead & furniture also one bald face sorrel mare, one sorrel colt 2 yrs old, one gray colt 2 yrs old, three brood sows, one a white the other two spotted, two cows and calves also one hundred seventy five dollars.
9th I will and bequeath to my daughter Amanda CASEY and her heirs and my son George KING and the children of Rosanna WINES dec'd, & Sarah KING that portion of land above bequeathed to her to be sold and the money equally divided between them.
10th It is my will and desire that the negro man Joseph and the woman Cloe with her future increase be equally divided between my daughter Amanda CASEY her heirs and my son George KING. At the death of my wife Sarah KING and if she should marry, Joseph from that time is to belong to Amanda and her heirs & George KING.
11th It is my will and desire that in addition to what I have already given my wife as above that she shall have a buggy that I got from my son George KING.



pg 465) 12th I will and bequeath to L.W. COPELAND a certain tract or parcel of land deeded to me by Wm. TURNER and wife containing 52 acres be the same more or less known and bounded as follows Beginning at 2 red oaks a corner to Yelborn BEASHEAR's thence on his line W39 poles to a black jack corner to the same thence 5 poles to a stake thence S13 E38 poles to a small black oak on west line thence on the same S80 E39 poles to a hickory a corner to George EPPERSON thence on his line N108 poles to his corner 2 black jacks on N line thence on the same N84 W93 poles to his corner 2 hickories on the aforesaid BEASHEAR's line thence on the same S51 E92 poles to the beginning. In case the said COPELAND should die before this my will takes effect then the said tract of land to revert back to my estate and sold and proceeds to be equally divided among my estate and sold and proceeds to be equally divided among my son George, Amanda CASEY and Eleanor & Wm. WINES.
13th Lastly I nominate and appoint my nephew David KING Executor to this my last will & testament and request that the Court shall require no security of him. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 23 day of November 1854.
