Elizabeth GORDON - Now on this day comes Elizabeth GORDON and files her petition praying the Court to appoint Loval C. O'BARR administrator of the estate of Alexander GORDON deceased. The Court after due consideration and being fully advised in the premises granted the pray of said petitioner and it is ordered by the Court that the said L.C. O'BARR be and he is duly appointed administrator of all and singular the goods and chattels of Alexander GORDON deceased.

Now on this day comes William RAGSDALE by petition verified by affadavit and prays the Court to strike the letters of administration granted to L.C. O'BARR in the estate of Alexander GORDON, deceased the Court after fully advised in the matter and is appearing that said L.C. O'BARR had fifteen days notice of the filing of said within and it appearing also that said L.C. O'BARR had mismanaged said estate it is therefore ordered by the court that said letters be and they are hereby revoked and that the said L.C. O'BARR pay the cost of this suit and that execution assure transfer.

The State of Arkansas to all persons whom these issuance shall come, Greeting: Know ye that whereas A. GORDON of the County of Conway died intestate as it is said on or about the 1st day of March A.D. 1864 having at the time of his death personal property in this state which may be lost destroyed or diminished in value if speedy care be not taken of the same to the end therefore that the said property may be lost collected preserved and disposed of according to law. We do hereby appoint William RAGSDALE of the County of Conway administrator debonis now of all and singular the goods and chattels rights and credits which were of the said A. GORDON at the time of his death with full power and authority to secure and dispose of the said property according to law and collect all moneys and the due said dec'd and in general to do and perfom all other acts and things which are or hereafter may be required of him by law. In testimony whereof I W.R. HINKLE Clerk of his Circuit Court and Ex Officio Clerk of the Court of Probate in and for the County of Conway aforesaid have herewith set my hand and official the seal of said court at office this 10th day of January A.D. 1866 W.R. Be it remembered that on the 10th day of January A.D. 1866 William RAGSDALE appeared to the Clerk for letters of administration in the estate of A. Wm RAGSDALE - On this day comes Wm RAGSDALE admin by petition and prays the Court to make an order for him to sell the personal property belonging to said estate that is unsold and also rent the land belonging to said estate. It is considered and ordered by the court that Wm RAGSDALE administrator debonis non of the estate of Alexander GORDON deceased proceed to sell the personal property belonging to said estate and also rent the lands belonging to said estate at the late residence of Alex. GORDON deceased on the twelfth day of February A.D. 1866.

Now on this day comes William RAGSDALE administrator of the estate of Alexander GORDON deceased and files his sale bill made in presence of an order of the probate Court made in vacation amounting to fifty-five dollars which was examined by the Court and approved and it is further considered by the Court that said administrator be charged with the amount of fifty five dollars.

Wm RAGSDALE Admr Alex GORDON deceased - Petition to Sell Land
On this day comes William RAGSDALE as administrator of the estate of Alexander GORDON deceased and presents to the court his petition representing that it is necessary to sell the lands belonging to said estate to wit the N1/2 of SE1/4 of Sec 4 T8N R15W containing 80 acres of land and also one improvement adjoining said land, because there is not a sufficiency of personal property belonging to said estate to pay the debts thereof, and said petition exhibits a schedule showing the asets and indebtedness of said estate whereby it appears that it will be necessary to sell said lands to pay the debts of said estate and it further appearing to the court that notice of this appliction has been given by posting advertisements as the law requires It is therefore considered by the court that said administrator proceed to subject to the widow's dower sell said land at public auction at the Courthouse door __ in January 1868 on a credit of twelve months credit taking notes with good security and that he gives a report of his proceedings to the next term of this Court.

Ford and presents to the Court his claim against the estate of Alex GORDON deceased said claim amounting to the sum of twenty dollars is appearing to the court that said claim has been allowed by the administrator it is therefore considered by the Court that said claim be classed in the fourth class of claims.

Elizabeth GORDON, Widow of Alex. GORDONn Dec'd vs Heirs of Alex. GORDON Dec'd - Application for Dower
On this day comes Elzabeth Gordon widow of Alex. GORDON deceased, and it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that dower had not been assigned or set apart to said widow, out of said estate and the heirs of said decedant, and the appearance of said heirs being entered herein by their legal representative, and the Court being sufficiently advised in the premises, is of opinion that the pray of petitioner be granted. It is therefore ordered by the Court that A.J. SHOEMAKE, John KISSIAH and Andy BARNES be and the same are hereby appointed by the Court, commissioners, to lay out and assign dower to said widow in and out of the said estate of which said decedant died siezed and possessed and that they be served with a copy of this order and make due report of their proceedings at next term of this Court.

Alex GORDON's Widow - Assignment of Dower
Now on this day comes Miles PRINCE by petition and shows to the Court that at a former term of this Court A.Y. SHEWMAKE and others were appointed commissioners to assign dower to the widow of Alex. GORDON deceased and said Commissioners have failed to assign and lay off the said dower and were released by this Court and prayed an order to appoint P.L. SAYLOR, Nathan WILLIAMS and Marion SHELTON commissioners to lay off and assign dower to the said widow out of the real estate of Alex. GORDON deceased. And after due deliberation and being fully advised in the matter it is considered by the Court that above named persons be and they are hereby appointed Commissioners to lay off said dower and that the said Commissioners be served with notice of their appointment and that they be required to meet at the late residence of Alex. GORDON deceased to lay off and assign dower to the said widow on the second Saturday in February next and that William RAGSDALE administrator of the estate of Alex. GORDON deceased and guardian of the minor heirs of Alex. GORDON deceased be served with notice of the time and place of the meeting of said Commissioners.

Now on this day comes P.Y. SAYLOR, Nathan WILLIAMS and presents this to the Court as their report - commissioners appointed to lay off dower in the case Wm RAGSDALE administrator of the estate of Alex. GORDON deceased as follows to wit We the undersigned being appointed by Probate Court of January Term to lay off dower for Alexander GORDON's widow proceed to the discharge of our duties on the 20th of March last and laid off said dower off of the east and of the east half of Sec 4, T8, R15 west and we then and there layed off said dower according to the best of our knowledge in favor of the widow of A. GORDON dec'd without materially impairing the sale of said land this the 6th day of April 1867.

On this day comes William RAGSDALE administrator of the estate of Alexander GORDON deceased, and presents his account current for confirmation and it appearing to the Court that said account had been filed at a previous term of this Court for the inspection of all persons concerned, and there having been no objections made to the same by any persons whatsoever known to this Court the same is hereby in all respects confirmed pg 422) by the Court and it is further ordered that said administrator be charged with the amount of ($379.05) three hundred and seventy nine dollars and five cents as shown by his account current.
