Opal Southerland Gefon, age 89, of Heber Springs,
Arkansas, passed away at her home on Wednesday,
November 9, 2005. Born in Ida, Arkansas, on July
8, 1916, she was the daughter of the late James A.
and Cora (Reed) Southerland. Mrs. Gefon returned to
Cleburne County in 1992 after living in Michigan.
She was a homemaker, a former inspector for Ford
Motor, and a former employee of the University of
Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband,
Leonard Gefon, on November 9, 1995. Mrs. Gefon is
survived by her nieces and nephews, as well as other
relatives and her many friends. Graveside services and
interment for Mrs. Gefon will be held Tuesday, Nov. 15,
at 3:00 p.m. in the Miller Cemetery with Rev. Lee Brown
officiating. Arrangements are by Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc.
