Funeral services for Mrs Eugenia Gordon-McGowan, 84 years,
6 months, who passed away Friday at the home of her daughter,
Mrs Robert Land, Melvin AL, held Saturday morning, 10am, McGowan
Methodist Church, Rev R.E. Alsworth, Pachuta, assisted by Rev J.W.
Grube, Melvin AL, conducted the funeral. She was a member of the
McGowan Methodist Church for 64 years. Survivors: two other
daughters, Mrs W.A. Moore, Springfield IL; Mrs G.A. Rentz,
Gilbertown AL; three sons, E.E. McGowan, Quitman MS, RFD; Talmadge
McGowan, Glendale AZ; Douglas McGowan, Quitman MS; three brothers,
Dr Gordon, Bucatunna MS; Alex Gordon, Plainview TX; Eugene Gordon,
Enterprise MS; two sisters, Mrs J.H. Rogers, Pachuta MS; Mrs
Laurena Garner, Perkinston MS; 24 grandchildren and seven great
grandchildren. Pallbearers: B.P. May, Dewey May, Max May, Edmond
Raley, Tom Hailes, John Davis. Interment was in the church cemetery.
