Funeral Services Planned for Two Drowning Victims
Funeral services for two Dallas area men who drowned
Friday in Lake Texoma will be held Monday. The two,
J.R. BUCHAN, 53, of 4122 Cedarbrush in Dallas, and
JOHN P. LIVINGSTON Jr., age 43, of 1204 Osage in
Richardson, drowned when their fishing boat capsized.
Services for Mr. Buchan, executive vice-president of
W.L. GORDON Co., food brokerage firm, will be held at
10 a.m. in Restland Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in
Restland Memorial Park. A native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa,
Mr. Buchan had been a resident of Dallas 20 years. He was
associated with the firm 18 years. He was president of
Dallas Food Brokers Association and was a member of
Brookhaven Country Club. Survivors include his wife,
a daughter Lisa BUCHAN; two sons, Jimmy BUCHAN and
Johnny BUCHAN, all of Dallas; father, John RUSSELL
BUCHAN of Cedar Rapids; five sisters, Miss Grace BUCHAN,
Mrs. J.E. DAMERON and Mrs. Ruby SMITH, all of Cedar
Rapids; Mrs. Agnes STEIN of Minneapolis, Minn., and
Mrs. Frances DAILY of San Antonio, and a brother,
Clive BUCHAN of Los Angeles, Calif. Funeral services
for Mr. Livingston, a native of Sherman, will be held
2 p.m. in Church of the Transfiguration. Burial will
be in Sherman. Mr. Livingston was a graduate of Sherman
High School where he lettered in football four years.
He attended Southern Methodist University and the
University of Dallas. He moved to Dallas from Sherman
15 years ago. He was a vice-president of the GORDON company.
Mr. Livingston was a Navy veteran of World War II and
served in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of the Church
of Transfiguration. Survivors are his wife; two daughter Helen LIVINGSTON and May Martha LIVINGSTON, both of Dallas; a son
Peter LIVINGSTON of Dallas; his mother Mrs. J.P. LIVINGSTON
of Silsbee; and a sister Mrs. P.R. LANDOLT Jr. of Silsbee.
