Gene Roger Huett, age 82, of Morrilton, Arkansas,
passed away Saturday, August 13, 2005. He was born
May 16, 1923, in Birdtown, Arkansas, a son of Milage
Weldon Huett and Effie (Rogers) Huett. He was a past
president of South Conway County School Board, past
president of the Professional Insurance Agents of
Arkansas, former Lions Club member, and former owner
of Morrilton Insurance Agency, as well as a member of
First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Helen
(Phipps) Huett of Morrilton; son, Mike Huett of Fort
Smith, Arkansas; two daughters, Beth Medlock and husband
Charles of Overland Park, Kansas, and Donna Parks and
husband Billy of Springfield, Arkansas; brother, Eudel
“Blue” Huett of Morrilton; eight grandchildren, Doug
Medlock, Debbie James, Sheri Medlock, Amy Forsyth, Michael
Huett, Paige Funkhouser, Zach Huett, and Holly Huett; and
two great-grandsons, Aaron and Brett James. He was preceded
in death by a son, Alan Huett; brother, Jim Hayes Huett; and
two sisters, Avis Mitchell and Sylvia Delaney. Funeral services
were 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, at First Baptist Church with Dr.
Bill Brown officiating. Burial was at Kilgore Cemetery by Harris
Funeral Home of Morrilton. Pallbearers were Tommy Huett, Jamie
Huett, Sam Callihan, Louis Huett, J.R. Francis, and Phil Eddy.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the First Baptist Adult
Sunday School Class. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist
Church Building Fund or the Conway County Library.
