Cecil A. Harrison died Thursday, September 27, 1990 at the
age of 67. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Assoc. and
was a First Sergeant in the U.S.M.C. until he retired in 1960.
Mr Harrison is survived by his wife Mary Harrison of San Antonio;
daughter and son-in-law Rosella and Don Motz of Vanderpool TX;
son and daughter-in-law Russell and Susan Harrison of Round Rock
TX; brothers Richard and James R. Harrison of Austin TX; sisters
Dorothy Butler of MS, Ida Mae Smith of CA, Betty Renfo of Cedar
Park TX, Jo Ann Storey of Austin TX. He was preceded in death by
his sister Jeanie Wright of Austin. Graveside services will be
held Tuesday October 2, 1990 at 10:45 a.m. at Ft. Sam Houston
National Cemetery with full military honors.

Harrison served in Marine Corps.
Cecil Harrison was a gentle, friendly man in spite of surviving
savage combat in two wars. He was a retired master sergeant with
the Marine Corps and served in World War II and the Korean War.
Harrison died Thursday at the age of 67. "My father's military
career spanned the globe to include the European and Pacific
theaters in World War II and some heavy fighting in Korea" said
his son, Rusty Harrison of Round Rock. Harrison described his
father as a friendly outgoing man despite the bloodshed and combat
he saw in earlier years. "My father was proud to be a Marine and
served this country with pride. He also never met a stranger."
Harrison loved to fish and hunt and watch baseball and football.
Other survivors include a wife, Mary Harrison of San Antonio; one
daughter Rosella Motz of Vanderpool, two brothers, James and
Richard Harrison, both of Austin; four sisters, Dorothy Butler
of Mississippi, Ida Mae Smith of California, Betty Renfro
of Cedar Park and Jo Ann Story of Austin. Graveside services
will be held at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at Fort Sam Houston National
Cemetery under the direction of Roy Akers Funeral Home.
