Willie Gordon, a former Bee Branch merchant, died
Friday (Aug. 12, 1966) at a Booneville hospital
following an operation. He was 85. He was born March
5, 1881, at Center Ridge and made his home at Charleston
during the past few years. Survivors include his wife,
Mrs. Nancy Lee Gordon; five daughters, Mrs. Gladys
Patterson of Harrison, Mrs. Hazel Holland of Los Angeles,
Calif., Mrs. Bertha Johnson of Bigelow, Mrs. Connie Wood
of Charleston and Mrs. Anncell LaFollett of Joplin, Mo.,
10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral
services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bee Branch Church
of Christ by George Pledger. Burial, with Masonic rites,
was in Ward Cemetery. Pence Funeral Home was in charge.
Active pallbearers named were James Ward, Ellis Ward, Emmett
Gardner, Lonnie McKnight, Lane Collums and Crockett Solomon.
