Robert B. Gordon Retired Grocer, Realtor Dies at 94
Whitewright--Funeral was held Tuesday in Earnheart
Funeral Chapel for Robert B. Gordon, 94, retired
Whitewright grocer and real estate man, who died
Monday afternoon at his home after suffering a
cerebral hemorrhage 10 days ago. Rev. Lee H. Smith,
minister of the Presbyterian Church and Rev. W.W.
Alverson, retired Presbyterian minister, officiated.
Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery. Mr. Gordon was a
native of Clinton, Ark., and a son of the late
Joseph and Una Gordon. His late wife was the former
Miss Mary LeFevre of Crossroads community, south
of Whitewright. He was the last surviving charter
member of Crossroads Presbyterian Church. He had
lived in Whitewright 58 years. Survivors are three
daughters, Mrs. C.W. Pope of Whitewright, Mrs. John
Livingston of Sherman and Mrs. Allan T. Short of
Whitewright; two sons, Luther Gordon of Whitewright
and W. L. Gordon of Dallas; two brothers, Jim Gordon
of Whitewright and D.C. Gordon of Denison; two sisters,
Mrs. W.A. Shirkel of Trenton and Mrs. W.A. Donaldson
of Ravenna; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
