Judge Robert Edgar Gordon, 78, of Plummerville,
died Monday May 8. He was born April 18, 1900 at
Center Ridge, a son of William Gordon and Mrs.
Laura Hill-Gordon. Judge Gordon was a retired
farmer and in 1950 he was elected County Judge
for Conway County where he served thru 1958. He
was a member of the Plummerville Masonic Lodge
No. 253 and a deacon of the Portland Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Etta Adams-Gordon of
Plummerville; one brother, Jack Gordon of Plummerville;
three sisters, Mrs. Cora Campbell, Mrs. Ollie Brand and
Mrs. Hettie Eoff, all of Plummerville. Funeral services
were today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. at the Portland Baptist
Church by Rev. Earl Smith. Burial was at Plummerville
Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Jimmy
Dale Campbell, Jarrell Brown, Bob Gordon, Grady Eoff,
Fred Eoff, Glenn Campbell and Bobby Brown. Honorary
pallbearers were deacons of the Portland Baptist Church.
