John W. FLETCHER, native of Fayette Co. died Saturday
Oct 14, 1933 at his home ten miles east of Somerville.
He was a victim of pneumonia and had been ill only a
short time. He was born near Somerville on Jan 31, 1855
and spent his entire life in Fayette Co. Member of Pleasant
Hill Primitive Baptist Church and served as choir leader
many years. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at
Pleasant Hill Church with J.T. Davis officiating. Interment
in adjoining cemetery. Surviving are his widow, Mrs Margaret
Daugherty-Fletcher, four daughters Mrs Millard Smalley,
Whiteville and Mrs J.J. Arrowood, Mrs Annie Brannon and Mrs
Bessie Steele, Somerville. A son John W. Fletcher Jr., Somerville.
A brother, two sisters and fourteen grandchildren.
