Odes Epperson, age 90, of Solgohachia, Arkansas, died Saturday,
January 3, 2004. He was born December 19, 1913, in Formosa,
Arkansas, a son of Tom and Margaret Guinn Epperson. Mr. Epperson
was a lifelong resident of Conway County and a retired auto
mechanic. He was of the General Baptist faith, a Mason for over
50 years, a Master Mason, and a member of Solgohachia Masonic
Lodge No. 722. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Laverne
Williams Epperson of Solgohachia; sons, Odes Ray Epperson of
Little Rock and Michael Lynn and wife, Billie Epperson of
Solgohachia; daughters, Betty and husband, Tim McCoy of
Solgohachia, and Margaret and husband Kenneth Shannon of
Brighton, Colorado; brothers, Arnold Epperson of Alameda,
California; Mitchell and Olen Epperson, both of Morrilton;
grandchildren, Kenneth McCoy, Stephanie Nix, Michael W. Epperson,
Audrey Epperson, Thomas Epperson, and Lee and Linda Epperson,
which he helped raise; five great-grandchildren; one great-
stepgrandchild; two great-great-stepgrandchildren and the family
of Brookridge Life Care Center where he was a resident for two
years and three months. He was preceded in death by brothers, Joe
and Marvin Epperson; sisters, Avie Isaacs and Pearlie Maxwell
Ingram; and grandson, Kenneth Forrest Shannon. Funeral services
were 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 6, at Harris Chapel with the Rev.
Lindy Davis officiating. Burial was at Kilgore Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Pallbearers were Sgt. Michael William
Epperson, John Dale Morrow, Glen Mayhew, Jerrell Brice, Dwight
Mullens, Bobby Brents, and Robert Wofford.
