Carlisle, May 22 (Spl) - Pfc
Rob D. Cates, son of Mr and Mrs W.R. Cates of Beechwood
community, south of Carlisle in Lonoke county, was killed
in action on Okinawa April 20, the War Department has notified
his parents. He was with one of the first infantry units to
land. Also surviving are his wife, of the Beechwood community;
a brother, Jeff Cates of Route 1, Carlisle; three sisters Mrs
Ed Welch of Carlisle, Mrs Arthur Dudly of Eldon MO and Mrs
Ralph M. Boyette of Fort Worth, Tex.
