Mrs. Rosa Narsis Bird, 73, of Birdtown, widow of S.P. Bird,
died at a Morrilton Nursing Home Monday, August 21. She was
born at Birdtown, November 17, 1893, a daughter of the late
Alex Gordon and Melvina Reid-Gordon. She was a member of the
Pleasant Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include six sons,
Elbert Bird and Fay Bird of Birdtown, Dewey Bird of Stigler
Okla, A/C Roy Bird of Little Rock Air Force Base, Huey Bird
and Ralph Bird of Brownsmills N.J., three daughters, Miss
Ruth Bird of Jacksonville, Mrs. Imogene French and Mrs. Esther
McNew of Morrilton, two brothers, Elmer Gordon of Springfield
and John Gordon of England, two sisters Mrs J.C. Huett of
Morrilton and Mrs. Allie VonOhlen of Llano Tex, 17 grandchildren
and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were 2p.m. Wednesday
at the Pleasant Springs Baptist Church by Elder Carl Williams.
Burial was at Kilgore Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home.
