It is hereby certified, that, in pursuance of law, Alexander GORDON, Conway County, State of Arkansas on this day purchased of the Register of this Office, the Lot or N 1/2 of South East of Section No. Four in Township No. Eight of Range No. Fifteen W containing eighty acres, at the rate of 75 cents per acre, amounting to 60 dollars, for which the said Alexander GORDON has made payment in full as required by law. Now, therefore, be it known, that, on presentation of this certificate to the Commissioner of the General Land Office, the said Alexander GORDON shall be entitled to receive a Patent for the Lot above described. I Alexander GORDON of Conway County, Arkansas having applied to enter the N 1/2 of S East of Sec 4 Township 8 Range 15W under the act entitled "An Act to Graduate and Reduce the Price of Public Lands to Actual Settlers and Cultivators," approved 4th day of August, 1854 do solemnly swear that I enter the same for my own use, and for the purpose of Actual Settlement and Cultivation, and that, together with said entry. I have not acquired from the United States, under the provisions of said act, more than Three Hundred and Twenty acres, according to the established surveys; and further, that the said land is not now in the occupancy of any Actual Settler, whose settlement thereon existed at the date of said law. I, Alexander GORDON of Conway County Arkansas do hereby apply to purchase the N 1/2 of SE Sec Four in Township 8N of Range 15W containing eighty acres, according to the returns of the Surveyor General, for which I have agreed with the Register to give at the rate of 75cts per acre. I, W.M. LEWIS, Register of the Land Office at Batesville ARK do hereby certify that the Lot above described contains eighty acres, as mentioned above, and that the price agreed upon is 75cts per acre. M.W. LEWIS, Register.

On this 20th day of July, 1859 personally appeared before me the undersigned Joshua MOSES Clerk of the Circuit Court in and for the County of Conway and the aforesaid Alexander GORDON who being duly sworn by me according to law deposes and says in relation to the land entered by him on the 18th day of September 1858 per certificate of purchase No. 14806, that the same was for his own use and for the purpose of actual settlement and cultivation under the provisions of the act of Congress of the 4th of August 1854 to graduate and reduce the price of the public land to actual settlers and cultivators that he is at this time in the occupancy of said land and has been residing thereon since the 18th day of September 1858 that he has a dwelling house, smoke house, corn crib and stable and about twenty acres cleared, fenced and in cultivation and that he has made or entered in to no agreement either directly or indirectly for the sale or transfer of said land and that he was twenty one years of age at the time he entered the sum.

County of Conway, State of Arkansas Before me Joshua MOSES Clerk of the Circuit Court personally appeared John KISSIRE who being duly sworn according to law deposes and says that he is well acquainted with Alexr GORDON who subscribed the foregoing declination and knows him to be the actual person who entered the land described therein, and that he is now and has been residing on said land since the 18th day of September 1858 and that his statement in regard to the improvement on the land he well knows from personal observation to be true.
