14. May 27, 1916 Robert filed for a Veteran's Application for Pension. It revealed that he fought in the 10th AR Cav between 1863-1865 under Col McCrory. Dr J.F. Halbrook stated that Robert had chronic rheumatism with stiffness of joints & muscles & periodic attacks of indigestion & that he was only able to do 1 day's work in 3 days.
